Toby Davis is a Chinese producer and DJ from Linfen, Shanxi Province who currently resides in Chengdu. He is on the label Pillz and mainly produces trap, grime, footwork, jungle, and bass. Davis is active in the Chinese electronic scene and has had his works featured on compilations such as “MAVERICKS VOLUME” and “MISSION TO THE MOON”. He collaborated with $upercub on the release “Ordinance”; which was put out on the international platform LEGION OF TRAP.
His track ‘Sword Dance’ was included on various compilations put out by Pillz called “Chinese Martial Arts”. After its release it was well received by listeners in China. On it there is a central theme covering Chinese traditional music and modern electronic styles. Within his work there are elements of darkness, spirituality, human nature, time and space. Toby Davis’s inspirations derive from cultural exploration which delivers a new perspective to the listener.
